Problem: Windows Multiple

When you install a new copy of Windows, some files might remain on the hard drive. This will lead to a screen during boot where you are forced to chose a Windows Version. (In most cases the first one listed is the right one). To solve this problem and avoid the 30 seconds waiting time, do the following:

Before trying these solutions, try run a disk clean-up. This might delete the unwanted Windows files and solve the problem. Otherwise, try one of these solutions:

1) Go to Control Panel > System and Security > System > Advanced System Properties > Startup and Recovery (click Settings).

Now chose which Windows Copy you wish to run upon boot. You can also change the time the list of Operation Systems will be shown.


2) Clean up the disk, sometimes old Windows files may be on which causes the selecting screen to come.
